a. Kapit-Kamay (P500) – Symbolizes the aspirations and ideals of Ninoy Aquino for a democratic and peaceful nation-a brotherhood of Christians, Muslims and other minority groups.

b. Gusali ng Batasang Pambansa (P50) – The symbol of Philippine lawmaking, it served as the seat of legislature during the Commonwealth era, and decades after the declaration of independence. Today, this grand structure houses the Filipino people’s treasures as the National Museum.

c. Palasyo ng Malakanyang (P20) – The Palasyo as viewed from across the Pasig River. It is where Philippine presidents spend their residency during their term.

d. Aguinaldo Shrine (P200) – The Philippine national flag was first unfurled from a window of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo’s mansion in Kawit, Cavite on June 12, 1891 during the declaration of independence.

e. Mayon Volcano (demonetized P20) – The landmark of Albay, Bicol Region. It was once known as the only volcano with the perfect cone.

f. Barasoain Church in Malolos, Bulacan (P10) – One of the towering landmarks of the Philippine Revolution. It was the venue of the first Filipino Legislature Assembly, the Malolos Congress, which held its inaugural session on September 15,1898. It was also here that the declaration of independence was ratified and the Constitution of the first Philippine Republic was drafted.

g. Manunggul Jar (P1000) – ancient burial jar dating to as far back as 800 B.C. the handiwork of an ancient artist, the manunggul’s round cover is topped by a miniature funerary boat with a prow carved in eye motif. It is a depiction of the belief in life after death, a high level concept of spirituality already present among indigenous Filipinos.

h. Banawe Rice Terraces (P1000) – The so-called “stairway to heaven is said to have existed for the last 2000 years, proof that the Ifugaos, Bontocs and Igorots have been practicing irrigated agriculture for centuries long before the coming of the Spaniards. The terraces continue to be built and maintained today, using approximately the same ancient technology.

i. Landing of Ferdinand Magellan in Limasawa (demonetized P2) – The Portugese explorer sailed into our shores on March 16, 1521. It was Magellan’s and succeeding expeditions from Spain that put the Philippine archipelago on the map of the world.

j. The Philippine National Flag (P500)
