About the Bank

Know Your Currency

Everyday, the currency notes and coins issued by the BSP continually circulate or change hands among the public. The public generally accepts and/or passes them on as legal tender, without full knowledge if the currency is genuine. Those who fail to carefully examine the money they receive are potential victims of counterfeit currency.

The booklet “Know Your Philippine Currency” is designed to help the public recognize genuine Philippine currency and guard against counterfeits.
