A Special Lecture on:
"Why Quantitative Easing was good and should be better ... and how the Philippines should benefit from it"
The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas hosted a special lecture on "Why Quantitative Easing was good and should be better ... and how the Philippines should benefit from it" by Professor John V. C. Nye on 14 January 2011 (Friday) Meeting Room of the BSP Executive Business Center, BSP Complex, Manila, Philippinines.
Governor Amando M. Tetangco, Jr. opened the event and encouraged everyone present to listen and find out what the visiting professor has to say on the useful and relevant lessons that can be drawn from his study and understanding of economic history.
Professor Nye talked about quantitative easing, its rational and its implications for the rest of the world, including emerging markets like the Philippines.
In attendance were BSP officials and representatives from both the public and private sector, e.g., the Senate, the Bureau of Treasury, the Presidential Management Staff, Bankers Association of the Philippines, Chamber of Thrift Banks, Philippine Economic Society, Ayala Life, Citigroup, USAID, IMF, and members of the Press.
