FCDU Deposit Hit A New High of $17.857 Billion

FCDU deposit liabilities reached a new two year and eleven month high as it peaked to $17.857 billion as of the week ended 24 November 2006, the highest recorded since end-December 2003. The $476 million week-on-week increase is 2.74 percent of the previous week’s level of $17.381 billion on 17 November 2006 and by 15.9 percent ($2.449 billion) than the previous year’s level of $15.408 billion on 25 November 2005.

Additional savings and demand deposits from the real estate and services sector contributed to the  increase in FCDU deposit liabilities.
