FCDU Deposit Liabilities Climbed to $17.821 Billion

02.23.2007

As of 31 January 2007, FCDU Deposit Liabilities stood at $17.821 billion, increasing by $233 million or 1.3 percent from last week’s $17.588 billion after declining for the first four consecutive weeks of 2007.  Though lower by $84 million or 0.5 percent than the previous month’s (29 December 2006) $17.905 billion, this January-end level was higher by $2.005 billion or 12.7 percent than last year’s (27 January 2006) $15.816 billion.

The month-on-month net decline of $84 million was mainly attributed to the $125 million decrease in resident deposits while the year-on-year net increase of $2.005 billion was due to the rise in both resident and non-resident deposits of $1.571 billion and $434 million, respectively.
