01.03.2008 It has come to the attention of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) that internet websites are being used to lure investors into spurious investment/deposit products allegedly authorized by BSP, with the promise of unrealistically high yields.
For the record, deposit-taking is an inherent activity of banks which cannot be outsourced. Therefore, those who claim that they represent banks commit misrepresentation.
The public therefore is advised to deal directly with banks at their respective offices.
