Addressing the impact of a strong peso


In a recent conference in Davao, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas introduced financial measures to help mitigate the possible negative impact of the peso’s appreciation on exporters and other affected sectors. The panel, led by BSP Deputy Governor Diwa Guinigundo [center] with BSP Managing Director Ma. Cyd Tuaño-Amador and International Monetary Fund Resident Representative Reza Baqir, discussed the use of hedging and other financial products offered by banks to reduce foreign exchange risks.
