01.19.2010

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) has received complaints on the unauthorized activities of certain individuals or groups posing as employees of banks, offering jobs as bank collectors or directly soliciting bank deposits from the public.

The public is advised to be wary and to immediately report to the BSP cases of suspicious activities of this nature.  If in doubt about the legitimacy of the banking operations of certain individuals or groups, the public is encouraged to immediately get in touch with the BSP in order to ensure that these activities have the proper  authorization.

For your protection, please transact directly with bank employees within the premises of the bank or with banks known to you.  Always keep in a safe place the proof of your deposit such as passbooks, copies of deposit slip and certificate of time deposit.
