BSP Honors its Stakeholders in Cebu City

Monetary Board Member Alfredo C. Antonio led the awards ceremony for BSP stakeholders in Region VII during the annual appreciation lunch at the BSP Cebu Regional Office, Cebu City on       15 July 2011.  

Of the 94 qualified top corporations which vied for the two awards, the Pacific Traders & Manufacturing Corporation and Phil-Japan Metals and Refined Products Co., Inc. emerged as the winners.  Pacific Traders & Manufacturing Corporation, an exporter of rattan, metal and wood furnitures in Tabok, Mandaue City was named Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms for the Business Expectations Survey.  The firm started its operations in 1973 and is currently headed by its President, Mr. Charles M. Streegan. 

Meanwhile, Phil-Japan Metals and Refined Products Co., Inc. whose products include refined gold and silver and crude palladium, was recognized as the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms in the region.  It started its operations in 1992 and is headed by Mr. Hitoshi Naoi, the current President and Chief Executive Officer of the company.  
  
This yearly event, which is the seventh for Region VII, is a way of giving recognition to Business Expectations Survey respondents that have provided exemplary support to the BSP's various statistical initiatives, information requirements and advocacy programs.   Similar occasions will be held in the remaining seven areas outside the National Capital Region from July to September 2011.
