BSP Holds 2011 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for Stakeholders in La Union


The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas will hold the 2011 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for Stakeholders in Region I which have provided exemplary support to the BSP's statistical undertakings, information needs and advocacy programs. With the theme "Ikaw at ang BSP: Working for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth," the event will be held on Tuesday, 26 July 2011 from         10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the BSP La Union Regional Office, San Fernando City and is part of the Bangko Sentral's 18th anniversary celebration. 

 The BSP will bestow awards to the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms for the Business Expectations Survey.  Awardees were selected from among the respondents to the survey that are included in the country's top corporations in the region.  A new award, Recognition for Information Sources for the Report on Regional Economic Developments, will also be given this year to recognize other stakeholders that provide the BSP with information support to have an effective scan of the environment in the regions. Monetary Board Member Ignacio R. Bunye will lead in honoring this year's awardees and stakeholders. 

This occasion is the second of the series of BSP's regional stakeholders' events which will be conducted from July to September 2011 in eight areas outside the National Capital Region (AONCR) to honor stakeholders in various awards categories.  These include Business Expectations Survey Outstanding Respondents, Recognition for Financial Learning Campaign Partners, and Information Sources for the Report on Regional Economic Developments. 

Stakeholders of the BSP in NCR and Region IV were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony held on 6 July 2011 at the BSP Main Office while two additional awards were conferred to the stakeholders in Region VII last 15 July 2011 at the BSP Cebu Regional Office in Cebu City.  To date, a total of 31 awardees were feted for their outstanding support and participation in the BSP's survey and advocacies, two of which were also elevated to the Hall of Fame.

This event is expected to further strengthen the partnerships between the BSP and its stakeholders in information gathering and advocacy campaigns that will help carry out its mandate of maintaining price stability and promoting financial stability in the country.
