The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas will honor its stakeholders in Region XI who have provided exemplary support to the BSP's statistical undertakings, information needs and advocacy programs during the 2011 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for BSP Stakeholders. This year's awards ceremony, with the theme "Ikaw at ang BSP: Working for Sustainable and Inclusive Growth," will be held on 2 August 2011 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Apo View Hotel, Davao City and is part of the Bangko Sentral's 18th anniversary celebration.
Four awards will be given in Region XI-two for the Business Expectations Survey (BES) and two for the Information Sources for the Report on Regional Economic Developments, which is a new award category. The Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms will be conferred to the awardees of the BES. They were selected from the country's top corporations in the region that are respondents to the survey. Meanwhile, the Recognition for Information Sources in generating the Report on Regional Economic Developments will be given to the government agency that provided the BSP with information support to have an effective scan of the environment in the regions.
Monetary Board Member Peter B. Favila will lead in honoring this year's awardees and stakeholders.
This occasion is the third leg of the BSP's regional stakeholders' events which started in July and will be conducted until September 2011 in eight areas outside the National Capital Region (AONCR) to honor stakeholders in various awards categories. These include Business Expectations Survey Outstanding Respondents, Recognition for Financial Learning Campaign Partners, and Information Sources for the Report on Regional Economic Developments. Stakeholders of the BSP in NCR and Region IV were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony held on 6 July 2011 at the BSP Main Office. This was followed by the regional events held at the BSP Cebu and the BSP La Union Regional Offices on 15 July and 26 July 2011, respectively. To date, a total of 35 awardees were feted for their outstanding support and participation in the BSP's survey and advocacies, two of which were also elevated to the Hall of Fame.
This event is expected to further strengthen the partnerships between the BSP and its stakeholders in information gathering and advocacy campaigns that will help carry out its mandate of maintaining price stability and promoting financial stability in the country.
