Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando Tetangco, Jr. (seated fourth from left) with the heads of 12 major banks launched last week the "Kiddie Account Program" to promote the habit of saving regularly among 12 million Filipino school children up to 12 years old. The program, organized under the auspices of the Bank Marketing Association of the Philippines, welcomes school children to open accounts with initial deposits of P100.00 and below at any of the banks' head offices or their 3,000 branches. Also present at the launch were pupils from the Aurora A. Quezon Elementary School in Manila.
