BSP-BMAP Launch Kiddie Account Program

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando Tetangco, Jr. (seated fourth from left) with the heads of 12 major banks launched last week the "Kiddie Account Program"  to promote the habit of saving regularly among 12 million Filipino school children up to 12 years old. The program, organized under the auspices of the Bank Marketing Association of the Philippines, welcomes school children to open accounts with initial deposits of P100.00 and below at any of the banks' head offices or their 3,000 branches. Also present at the launch were pupils from the Aurora A. Quezon Elementary School in Manila. The 12 participating banks were represented by, seated from left:  Development Bank of the Philippines Senior EVP Maria Theresa Quirino; BPI President Aurelio Montinola III; China Bank Savings President Alberto Ramos; Bank Marketing Association of the Philippines President Allan Tumbaga; East West Bank President Antonio Moncupa, Jr.; Maybank President Ong Seet Joon; Philippine National Bank President Carlos Pedrosa.
