BSP and CFO Establish Remittance for Development Council

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando Tetangco, Jr. (left) together with Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) Chairperson Imelda Nicolas (center) and CFO Undersecretary Mary Grace Tirona (right), sign the Memorandum of Agreement establishing the Remittance for Development Council (ReDC). The Council is an advisory and policy-recommending body that aims to explore new projects and expand existing initiatives to create a better environment in maximizing the benefits from OF remittances. Partner-stakeholders of ReDC include the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Western Union Foundation, the Association of Bank Remittance Officers, Microfinance Council of the Philippines, CBMS Network, Atikha, ERCOF and TIGRA.
