BSP Honors its Stakeholders in Davao City

07.11.2012

Monetary Board Member Felipe M. Medalla led the awards ceremony for BSP stakeholders in Regions X, XI, ARMM and CARAGA during the annual appreciation lunch at The Apo View Hotel, Davao City on 11 July 2012.

Of the 50 qualified top corporations which vied for the two awards in Region XI for outstanding respondents of the Business Expectations Survey, the LTS Department Stores, Inc. and Martsons Food Corporation emerged as the winners.  LTS Department Stores, Inc., a department store in Davao City was named Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms.  The firm is currently headed by its President, Ms. Jennifer Ang.  Meanwhile, Martsons Food Corporation whose products include semi-refined carrageenan seaweeds and dried tropical fruits, was recognized as the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms in the region.  It is headed by Mr. Michael T. Ang, the President of the company.

Three government agencies—the National Economic Development Authority Region X, Bureau of Agricultural Statistics (BAS) Regional Operations Center XI and BAS Regional Operations Center XIII—were also awarded the Recognition for Information Sources for the Report on Regional Economic Developments.

This yearly event, which is the eighth for Region XI, is a way of giving recognition to Business Expectations Survey respondents as well as public and private institutions that have provided exemplary support to the BSP’s various statistical initiatives, information requirements and advocacy programs.   Similar occasions will be held in the remaining eight areas outside the National Capital Region from July to September 2012.
