The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will honor its stakeholders that have provided exemplary support to its statistical undertakings, information needs and advocacy programs during the 2012 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for BSP Stakeholders in Regions VII and VIII. This event will be held on 24 July 2012 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the BSP Cebu Regional Office, Cebu City. The awards ceremony, with the theme “Shared Goals, Shared Responsibilities and Valued Partnerships,” is part of the Bangko Sentral’s 19th anniversary celebration.
The BSP will give four awards—two for the Business Expectations Survey (BES) respondents and two for the Information Sources for the Report on Regional Economic Developments. The Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms will be conferred to the BES awardees in Region VII. They were selected from the country’s top corporations in the region that are respondents to the survey. Meanwhile, the Recognition for Information Sources in generating the Report on Regional Economic Developments will be given to the government agencies that provided the BSP with information support to have an effective scan of the environment in Regions VII and VIII. Monetary Board Member Peter B. Favila will lead in honoring this year’s awardees and stakeholders.
Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony held last 4 July 2012 at the BSP Main Office. The event in Cebu City is the second leg of the BSP’s regional stakeholders’ events which started on 11 July 2012 in Region XI and will be conducted until September 2012 in nine areas outside the National Capital Region (AONCR) to honor stakeholders in various awards categories. These categories include the Outstanding Respondents for the Business Expectations Survey, Best Respondents for the Cross Border Transactions Survey Inter-Company Accounts, Recognition for Financial Learning Campaign Partners, Information Sources for the Report on Regional Economic Developments, and Pagtugon Award for Rural and Cooperative Banks, a new award category.
This event is expected to further strengthen the partnerships between the BSP and its stakeholders in information gathering and advocacy campaigns that will help the BSP carry out its mandate of maintaining price stability and promoting financial stability as well as ensuring an effective payments and settlements system in the country.
