BSP Holds the 2012 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for Stakeholders in Region IV

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will hold the 2012 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for BSP Stakeholders in Region IV that have provided exemplary support to its statistical undertakings, information needs and advocacy programs. The awards ceremony will be held on 29 August 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Taal Vista Hotel, Aguinaldo Highway, Tagaytay City with the theme “Shared Goals, Shared Responsibilities and Valued Partnerships.”  

The BSP will give eight awards—two for the Business Expectations Survey (BES) respondents, two for the Cross Border Transactions Survey (CBTS) respondents, two for the Information Sources for the Report on Regional Economic Developments, one for the Credit Surety Fund (CSF) partner and one for the Institutional Partner for Microfinance. 

The Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms will be conferred to the BES awardees in Region IV. They were selected from among the 64 qualified top corporations in the region that are respondents to the survey in 2011.  The Best Respondent for Inter-Company Accounts and the Hall of Fame for Best Respondent for Inter-Company Accounts will be given to the CBTS awardee in Region IV.   The Recognition for Information Sources in generating the Report on Regional Economic Developments will be given to the government agency that provided the BSP with information support to have an effective scan of the environment in CALABARZON and MIMAROPA.  The Outstanding Credit Surety Fund will be awarded to the established Credit Surety Fund to recognize their role in assisting micro, small and medium enterprises obtain the necessary funds to finance their operation so that these MSMEs could contribute to countryside industrialization.  Meanwhile, the Recognition for Financial Inclusion Champion will be conferred to the institutional partner that provides exemplary and innovative support to BSP activities on microfinance and greater financial inclusion in the country.  Monetary Board Member Felipe M. Medalla will lead the awards ceremony. 

Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony held last 4 July 2012 at the BSP Main Office.  The event in Tagaytay City is the sixth in the series of the BSP’s regional stakeholders’ events following the awards ceremonies held in Regions III, V, VII, XI, and XII from 11 July to 14 August 2012.  Similar activities will be conducted through September 2012 in three other areas outside the National Capital Region (AONCR) to honor stakeholders in various awards categories.  These categories include the Outstanding Respondents for the Business Expectations Survey, Best Respondents for the Cross Border Transactions Survey, Recognition for Financial Learning Campaign Partners, Information Sources for the Report on Regional Economic Developments, Financial Inclusion Champion and Pagtugon Award for Rural and Cooperative Banks, a new award category. 

This event is expected to further strengthen the partnerships between the BSP and its stakeholders in information gathering and advocacy campaigns that will help the BSP carry out its mandate of maintaining price stability and promoting financial stability as well as ensuring an effective payments and settlements system in the country.
