The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will host the 2013 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for stakeholders in SOCCSKSARGEN and ARMM that have provided exemplary support to its statistical undertakings, information needs and advocacy programs. With the theme “Hand in Hand in Sustaining a Steadfast and Strong Economy,” the event will be held on 13 August 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the East Asia Royale Hotel, General Santos City. Monetary Board Member Armando L. Suratos will lead in honoring this year’s awardees and stakeholders.
The BSP will confer four awards—two for the Business Expectations Survey (BES), one for the Information Sources for the Report on Regional Economic Developments and one for the Clean Note Policy Campaign and Coin Recirculation Program, a new award category. The Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms will be conferred to the BES awardees in SOCCSKSARGEN. They were selected from among the country’s top corporations in the region that are respondents to the survey. Meanwhile, the Outstanding Partner for Report on Regional Economic Developments will be given to the government agency that provided the BSP with information support to have an effective scan of the environment in the region while the Outstanding Partner of BSP Cotabato Branch for the Clean Note Policy Campaign and Coin Recirculation Program will be given to a private, public and non-government organization, groups or individuals that supported BSP in promoting its advocacy on keeping our money clean and crisp as well as increasing public consciousness on the importance of using our coins for daily transactions.
The event in General Santos City is the third of the series of the BSP’s regional stakeholders’ events following the awards ceremonies held in Regions VI and XI on 30 July and 6 August 2013, respectively. Similar activities will be conducted until October 2013 in six other areas outside the National Capital Region (AONCR) to honor stakeholders in various awards categories. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region (NCR) were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony held last 16 July 2013 at the BSP Main Office.
This event is expected to further strengthen the partnerships between the BSP and its stakeholders in information gathering and advocacy campaigns that will help the BSP carry out its mandate of maintaining price stability and promoting financial stability as well as ensuring an effective payments and settlements system in the country.
