BSP Honors its Stakeholders in General Santos City

08.13.2013

Monetary Board Member Armando L. Suratos led the awards ceremony for BSP stakeholders in SOCCSKSARGEN and ARMM during the annual appreciation lunch at the East Asia Royale Hotel, General Santos City on 13 August 2013.

South Cotabato Integrated Port Services, Inc. (SCIPSI) was chosen as the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms for the Business Expectations Survey (BES) in SOCCSKSARGEN. The company provided cargo-handling services at Makar Wharf since 1975.  Mr. Gabriel D. Muñasque is currently the General Manager of SCIPSI.  Meanwhile,  TNP Agricultural Development Corporation was recognized as the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms in the region. Established in 1988, the company is engaged in processing of raw and natural rubber.  Mr. Benito Tan is the President of the company.

Awarded the Outstanding Partner for the Report on Regional Economic Developments was the National Statistical Coordination Board Regional Division XII (NSCB-RD XII).  Led by its Unit Head Ms. Herlita G. Caraan, the NSCB-RD XII started in 1990 as part of the Regional Statistical System Development Project (RSSDP) of the NSCB.  The RSSDP operations in Region XII ended in 1991 but the project activities were institutionalized with the creation of the NSCB Regional Unit in Region XII (now called the NSCB-RD XII).

The Outstanding Partner of BSP Cotabato Branch for the Clean Note Policy Campaign and Coin Recirculation Program is given to Notre Dame University College of Business Accountancy. The President of the said university is Rev. Fr. Eduardo G. Tanudtanud, OMI.

This annual event is one way by which the BSP gives recognition to BES respondents as well as to public and private institutions that have provided exemplary support to the BSP’s various statistical initiatives, information requirements and advocacy programs.   The stakeholders’ award in General Santos City, which the BSP has been holding since 2010, is the third among the regional events for this year.  Similar occasions will be held in other areas outside the National Capital Region (NCR) from August to October 2013. The stakeholders’ award in NCR was held last 16 July 2013 at the BSP Main Office.
