In celebration of its 21st anniversary, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas will hold the 2014 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for BSP Stakeholders in CALABARZON and MIMAROPA that have continuously supported its statistical initiatives, information requirements, and advocacy programs. The event will be held on Tuesday, 2 September 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Days Hotel, Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway, Tagaytay City, with the theme “Forging Stronger Alliances, Propelling Sustainable Growth.” Monetary Board Member Armando L. Suratos will lead in honoring this year’s awardees and stakeholders.
The BSP will give nine awards for outstanding partners—two for the Business Expectations Survey (BES), one for Coordinated Direct Investment Survey (CDIS), two for information source for the Report on Regional Economic Developments, one for Financial Inclusion Champion, one for the BSP-UP Professorial Chair Lectures and two for the Currency Programs of the BSP.
The Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms will be conferred to the BES respondents selected from among the country’s top corporations in Region IV that have participated regularly in the survey by providing timely, complete, accurate and consistent responses. The Outstanding Respondent for the Coordinated Direct Investment Survey will be given to the CDIS respondent, who was selected from among the resident direct investment enterprises and resident direct investors that have participated to the survey in 2013 based on timeliness, completeness, accuracy and consistency of responses. The Outstanding Partners for the Report on Regional Economic Developments will be awarded to the agencies or institutions that provided the BSP with information support for an effective environment scan of CALABARZON and MIMAROPA. The Financial Inclusion Champion shall be awarded to the bank that have supported the BSP in the delivery of financial services to the previously unbanked or underbanked sectors of the country through their own market based/innovative initiatives. The Outstanding Professorial Chair Manager will be given to recognize the best steward of BSP-sponsored professorial chairs. Meanwhile, the Outstanding Regional Partners in Currency Programs will be given to the agency or institution that supported the BSP’s currency programs and advocacies in Regions IV-A and IV-B such as the clean note policy and coin recirculation.
This occasion is the seventh leg of the BSP’s regional stakeholders’ events which will be held from July to September 2014 in 11 areas outside the National Capital Region (AONCR) to honor stakeholders in various award categories. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony held last 9 July 2014 at the BSP Main Office.
This event is expected to further strengthen the partnerships between the BSP and its stakeholders, resulting in more efficient and effective means of information gathering and conduct of advocacy campaigns to achieve the BSP’s ultimate goal of safeguarding price stability and promoting a healthy financial system as well as ensuring an effective payments and settlements system in the country.
