08.02.2016 Monetary Board Member Juan D. De Zuñiga, Jr. led the awards ceremony for stakeholders of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in Region IV during the annual appreciation lunch held at the Days Hotel, Tagaytay-Nasugbu Highway, Tagaytay City on 2 August 2016. EDS Manufacturing, Inc. was chosen as the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms for the Business Expectations Survey (BES) in Region IV while Hitachi Industrial Machinery Philippines Corporation was recognized as the Outstanding Respondent for the BES among Small Firms in Region IV. The National Economic Development Authority (NEDA)-CALABARZON and NEDA-MIMAROPA received the award for Outstanding Partner for the Report on the Regional Economic Developments in Regions IV-A and IV-B, respectively. The Outstanding Financial Inclusion Champion was conferred to the CARD Banking Group. The Outstanding Regional Partners in Currency Programs of the BSP were conferred to the following: for Clean Note Policy—Department of Education-Division of Cavite Province (Region IV-A) and Department of Education-Division of Palawan Province (Region IV-B); for Coin Recirculation—Philippine Statistics Authority-Region IV; and for Demonetization of the New Design Series—Department of Interior Local Government (DILG)-CALABARZON (Region IV-A) and DILG-MIMAROPA (Region IV-B). Lastly, the Regional Development Council-CALABARZON and the Province of Palawan won the Outstanding Regional Partners for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns in Regions IV-A and IV-B, respectively. Each awardee received the “Dynamic Balance, Philippine Eagle” trophy crafted by visual artist and multi-awarded sculptor, Mr. Ferdinand Cacnio.
The awards ceremony is one way by which the BSP attests to the successful alliances that have helped the BSP maintain price and financial stability and ensure an effective payments and settlement system. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony at the BSP Main Complex, Manila on 13 July 2016. Acbel Polytech Philippines, Inc. from Region IV-A was also awarded during this occasion as the Outstanding Respondent for the Cross Border Transactions Survey. The stakeholders’ awards ceremony in Tagaytay City, which the BSP has been holding since 2005, is the third in a series of 12 regional events this year.
