Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Holds 2016 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for Stakeholders in Region VII


The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will recognize its stakeholders who have provided exemplary support to its statistical undertakings, information needs and advocacy programs during the 2016 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for BSP Stakeholders in Region VII.   With the theme “Sustained Partnership, Sustained Economic Growth,” this event will be held on  9 August 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Banking Hall, BSP Cebu Regional Office, Cebu City.  Monetary Board Member Alfredo C. Antonio will lead in honoring this year’s awardees and stakeholders.

The BSP will grant five awards to outstanding partners: for the Information Support category—two awards for the Business Expectations Survey (BES), one for Sources of Information for the Report on Regional Economic Developments; and for the Advocacy Support category—one for the Currency Program of the BSP and one for implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns.                      

The Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms will be conferred to the BES awardees in Region VII.  They were selected from among the country’s top corporations in the region that are respondents to the survey and have participated regularly by providing timely, complete, accurate and consistent responses. The Outstanding Partner for Report on Regional Economic Developments will be awarded to the government agency or institution that provided the BSP with information support to have an effective scan of the environment in Region VII. The Outstanding Regional Partner in Currency Programs will be given to the agency or institution that supported the BSP’s currency programs and advocacies on the demonetization of the new design series in the region. Meanwhile, the Outstanding Regional Partner for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns will be given to the agency or institution that has supported the BSP’s public information campaigns in Region VII. 

This occasion is the fifth of the BSP’s regional stakeholders’ events which will be held from  July to September 2016 in 12 areas outside the National Capital Region to honor stakeholders in various award categories. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier acknowledged during the awards ceremony and appreciation lunch held last 13 July 2016 at the BSP Main Complex, Manila.
The awards ceremony is expected to further strengthen the alliance between the BSP and its stakeholders in achieving a more efficient and effective means of gathering information and the conduct of advocacy campaigns to carry out its ultimate goal of safeguarding price stability and promoting a healthy financial system as well as ensuring an efficient payments and settlement system in the country.
