Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Honors its Stakeholders in Region VI and NIR

Monetary Board Member Valentin A. Araneta led the awards ceremony for stakeholders of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in Region VI and the Negros Island Region (NIR) during the annual appreciation lunch held at the Smallville21 Hotel, Sen. Benigno S. Aquino, Jr. Ave., Mandurriao, Iloilo City on 16 August 2016.  
 
KJ Fairmart, Inc. was chosen as the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms for the Business Expectations Survey (BES) in Region VI and NIR while the Southern Auto Mart and Trading Corporation was recognized as the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms. The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)-Region VI received the award for Outstanding Partner for the Report on Regional Economic Developments. The Outstanding Regional Partner in Currency Programs was awarded to the following: Savemore Supermarket-Libertad Branch and Fil Products Service Television for Clean Note Policy; Junior Philippine Economics Society of University of St. La Salle-Bacolod, and Calinog National Comprehensive High School for Coin Recirculation; and “The Morning Show” of  ABS-CBN TV 4 Bacolod, Iloilo Supermart, Inc., and Philippine Information Agency-Negros Oriental for Demonetization of the New Design Series. Meanwhile, the Outstanding Regional Partner for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns was conferred to the Philippine Information Agency-Negros Occidental, West Visayas State University-College of Business and Management, Barangay Nagustan Council, and Department of Social Welfare and Development-Negros Oriental. Each awardee received the “Dynamic Balance, Philippine Eagle” trophy crafted by visual artist and multi-awarded sculptor, Mr. Ferdinand Cacnio.

This event attests to the successful alliance that has helped the BSP maintain price and financial stability and ensure an efficient payments and settlement system. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony at the BSP Main Complex, Manila on 13 July 2016. This year’s stakeholders’ awards in Region VI and NIR marks the fifth time that the BSP has awarded stakeholders in Region VI and NIR  and is the sixth in a series of 12 regional events for this year.
