As part of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas’ (BSP) celebration of its 23rd anniversary, the2016 Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for BSP Stakeholders in Region XII and the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) will be held to honor the institutions that have provided exemplary support to its statistical undertakings, information needs and advocacy programs. With the theme “Sustained Partnership, Sustained Economic Growth,” the occasion will take place at the Pandan Ballroom A, Greenleaf Hotel, San Miguel St., General Santos City on Tuesday, 23 August 2016, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monetary Board Member Valentin A. Araneta will lead in honoring the awardees and stakeholders in this annual event.
The BSP will bestow ten awards to outstanding partners: for the Information Support Category—two for the Business Expectations Survey (BES), and two for Sources of Information for the Report on Regional Economic Developments; and for the Advocacy Support category—one for the Credit Surety Fund (CSF) Program, four for the Currency Programs of the BSP and one for implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns.
The award for Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms will be conferred to the BES respondents selected from among the country’s top corporations in Region XII and ARMM who have participated regularly in the survey by providing timely, complete, accurate and consistent responses. The Outstanding Partner for the Report on Regional Economic Developments will be awarded to the agency or institution that provided the BSP with information support for an effective environment scan of Region XII and ARMM. Meanwhile, the Outstanding CSF Local Government Unit (LGU) Partner will be given to the LGU that promoted an environment conducive towards growth and sustainable development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) through collateral-free credit access to financial institutions. The Outstanding Regional Partner for Currency Programs will be given to the agency or institution that supported the BSP’s currency programs and advocacies in Region Xll and ARMM such as the clean note policy, coin recirculation and demonetization of the new design series. Lastly, the Outstanding Regional Partner for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns will be awarded to the agency or institution that has supported the BSP’s public information campaigns conducted in Region XII and ARMM.
This occasion is the seventh of the BSP’s regional stakeholders’ events which will be held from July to September 2016 in 12 areas outside the National Capital Region (AONCR) to honor stakeholders in various award categories. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony held last 13 July 2016 at the BSP Main Complex, Manila.
The awards ceremony is expected to further strengthen the alliance between the BSP and its stakeholders in achieving a more efficient and effective means of gathering information and the conduct of advocacy campaigns to carry out its ultimate goal of safeguarding price stability and promoting a healthy financial system as well as ensuring an efficient payments and settlement system in the country.
