The Awards Ceremony and Appreciation Lunch for Stakeholders of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in Region XI, held at The Apo View Hotel, Bonifacio St., Poblacion District, Davao City on 20 September 2016, was led by Monetary Board Member Armando L. Suratos.
Southern Bee Foods Corporation won the award for Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms while the Davao Central Chemical Corporation was acclaimed as the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms for the Business Expectations Survey in Region XI. The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)-Region XI was recognized as the Outstanding Partner for Sources of Information for the Report on Regional Economic Developments. The Outstanding Credit Surety Fund (CSF) was conferred to the Davao del Norte Credit Surety Fund. Meanwhile, the Archdiocese of Davao was acknowledged as the Outstanding Regional Partner in Currency Programs of the BSP for the Demonetization of the New Design Series. Lastly, the Outstanding Regional Partner for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns was given to the Philippine Information Agency-Region XI. Each awardee received the “Dynamic Balance, Philippine Eagle” trophy crafted by visual artist and multi-awarded sculptor, Mr. Ferdinand Cacnio.
This event attests to the successful alliance that has helped the BSP maintain price and financial stability and ensure an efficient payments and settlement system. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony at the BSP Main Complex, Manila on 13 July 2016. This year’s stakeholders’ awards in Region XI marks the 13th time that the BSP has awarded stakeholders in Region XI and is the 11th in a series of 12 regional events for this year.
