Monetary Board Member Juan D. De Zuñiga, Jr. led the awards ceremony for stakeholders of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in Region VI and the Negros Island Region (NIR) during the annual appreciation lunch held at Amigo Terrace Hotel, Iznart cor. Delgado Sts., Iloilo City on 8 August 2017.
KJ Fairmart, Inc. was chosen as the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms while Navstar Gasoline Station (Total) was recognized as the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms for the Business Expectation Survey (BES) in Region Vl and NIR. The Philippine Statistics Authority-Capiz received the award for Outstanding Partner for the Report on Regional Economic Developments. The Outstanding Regional Partners in Currency Programs were awarded to the following: Iloilo Supermarket, Inc. for Clean Note Policy; Calinog National Comprehensive High School and Junior Philippine Economics Society of University of St. La Salle-Bacolod for Coin Recirculation. Both Calinog National Comprehensive High School and Junior Philippine Economics Society of University of St. La Salle-Bacolod were also awarded the Gold Hall of Fame Award. SM City Iloilo, Philippine Chamber of Commerce Inc. Aklan/DTI Negosyo Center Kalibo and “SALANDIGAN” of ABS-CBN TV-4 Bacolod for Demonetization of the New Design Series. Meanwhile, the Outstanding Regional Partners for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns were accorded to the College of Business and Management-West Visayas State University, Capiz State University and La Consolacion College-Bacolod. Lastly, the Special Category Award for Outstanding Partner for Child Financial Education was given to Department of Education-Region Vl. Each awardee was presented the “Dynamic Balance, Philippine Eagle” trophy while the Gold Hall of Fame awardees received the “Soaring to Greater Heights” trophy, both of which were crafted by visual artist and multi-awarded sculptor, Mr. Ferdinand Cacnio.
This event attests to the successful alliance that has helped the BSP maintain price and financial stability and ensure an efficient payments and settlement system. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony at the BSP Main Complex, Manila on 11 July 2017. This year’s stakeholders’ awards in Region VI and NIR marks the sixth time that the BSP has awarded stakeholders in Region VI and NIR and is the sixth in a series of 12 regional events for this year.
