Monetary Board Member Valentin A. Araneta led the awards ceremony for stakeholders of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in Region VII during the annual appreciation lunch held at the Banking Hall, BSP Cebu Regional Office, Cebu City on 15 August 2017.
Dakay Construction and Development Corporation was chosen as the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms while Cebu Industrial Park Developers, Inc. was recognized as the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms for the Business Expectation Survey (BES) in Region VII. National Economic and Development Authority-Region VII received the award for Outstanding Partner for the Report on Regional Economic Developments. The Department of Education - Mandaue District was recognized as Outstanding Regional Partner for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns in Region VII. Meanwhile, the Outstanding Regional Partners in Currency Programs were accorded to Fil Products Service Television, Inc. for Clean Note Policy; Lee Super Plaza for Coin Recirculation; and the Philippine Information Agency - Cebu Provincial Information Center and 96.7 Bai Radio DYEM FM & Negros Chronicle for Demonetization of the New Design Series. Lastly, the Outstanding Regional Partner for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns was accorded to the Department of Social Welfare and Development. Each awardee was presented the “Dynamic Balance, Philippine Eagle” trophy, which was crafted by visual artist and multi-awarded sculptor, Mr. Ferdinand Cacnio.
This event attests to the successful alliance that has helped the BSP maintain price and financial stability and ensure an efficient payments and settlement system. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony at the BSP Main Complex, Manila on 11 July 2017. This year’s stakeholders’ awards in Region VII marks the 14th time that the BSP has awarded stakeholders in Region VII and is the seventh in a series of 12 regional events for this year.
