06.22.2018

Financial Literacy for Learners and Teachers

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) led by Governor Nestor A. Espenilla, Jr. (third from right); Department of Education (DepEd) led by Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones (center); and BDO Foundation (BDOF) led by Mr. Mario Deriquito (third from left), signed a Memorandum of Agreement to develop financial literacy videos as learning tools to support mainstreaming financial education lessons in the K to 12 curriculum. These videos will reach around 700,000 teachers and non-teaching personnel and 24 million students in more than 47,000 public schools nationwide. This partnership showcases how the public and private sectors can work together to enhance the financial literacy levels of Filipinos, beginning with the youth who go through the formal education system.
