The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will host the 2018 Awards and Appreciation Ceremony for BSP Region l and CAR Stakeholders, who have provided exemplary support to its statistical undertakings, information needs, advocacy programs and various initiatives and activities. Focusing on the theme “Reinforcing Partnerships, Defying New Challenges,” the event will be held on Friday, 24 August 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Convention Hall, BSP La Union Regional Office as part of the BSP’s 25th anniversary celebration. The awards ceremony will be led by Monetary Board Member Felipe M. Medalla and Senior Assistant Governor Dahlia D. Luna in honoring this year’s awardees and stakeholders.
The BSP will present 16 awards to outstanding partners: for the Information Support category—two for the Business Expectations Survey (BES), and two for Sources of Information for the Report on Regional Economic Developments; and for Advocacy Support category—one for the Local Government Unit (LGU) Coordination, six for the Currency Programs of the BSP, three for implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns, and two for the Knowledge Resource Network (KRN).
The award for Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms will be conferred to the BES respondents, who were selected from the country’s top corporations in the regions. Further, these outstanding respondents participated regularly in the survey and provided timely, complete, accurate and consistent responses. The Outstanding Partner for the Report on Regional Economic Developments in the Philippines will be awarded to the agency or institution that provided the BSP with information support in the regions. The Kapit-Bisig Award (City Level) will be granted to the most active partner whose submissions of the prescribed reports are deemed compliant with the provisions of the Memorandum of Agreement on Information Sharing Arrangements between the BSP and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). Meanwhile, the Outstanding Regional Partners for Currency Programs will be given to agencies or institutions that supported the BSP’s currency programs and advocacies in the regions, such as coin recirculation and demonetization of the new design series. The Outstanding Regional Partners for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns will be awarded to the agencies or institutions that supported the BSP’s public information campaigns conducted in the regions. Lastly, the Outstanding Regional KRN Partners will be awarded to partner libraries that have promoted greater public understanding of essential economic and financial concepts and issues by providing free information materials and online research assistance.
This occasion is sixth in the series of BSP’s regional stakeholders’ events in 12 areas outside the National Capital Region (AONCR). Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony held last 10 July 2018 at the BSP Main Complex, Manila.
In keeping with the theme, reinforcing partnerships with stakeholders will improve the collaboration of the BSP and its partners in gathering information and conducting advocacy campaigns. This will help in defying new challenges in carrying out the BSP’s objectives of safeguarding price stability and promoting a healthy financial system as well as ensuring an efficient payments and settlement system in the country.
