The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will conduct the 2018 Awards and Appreciation Ceremony for BSP Region VIII Stakeholders, who have provided exemplary support to its statistical undertakings, information needs, advocacy programs and various initiatives and activities. Focusing on the theme “Reinforcing Partnerships Defying New Challenges,” the event will be held on Tuesday, 28 August 2018, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Multi-Purpose Hall, BSP Tacloban Branch, as part of the BSP’s 25th anniversary celebration. The awards ceremony will be led by Monetary Board Member Juan D. De Zuñiga, Jr.
The BSP will give seven awards to outstanding partners: for the Information Support category—two for the Business Expectations Survey (BES), and one for Sources of Information for the Report on Regional Economic Developments; and for the Advocacy Support category—two for the Currency Programs of the BSP, and one for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns. One Gold Hall of Fame Award will be given to the outstanding partner, who won in the same category for three consecutive years.
The award for Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms and the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms will be accorded to the BES respondents, who were selected from the country’s top corporations in the regions. Further, these outstanding respondents participated regularly in the survey and provided timely, complete, accurate and consistent responses. The Outstanding Partner for the Report on Regional Economic Developments will be awarded to the agency or institution that provided the BSP with information support in the regions. Meanwhile, the Outstanding Regional Partners for Currency Programs will be given to the agencies or institutions that supported the BSP’s currency programs and advocacies in the regions, such as the clean note policy and demonetization of the new design series. Lastly, the Outstanding Regional Partner for Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns will be awarded to the agency or institution that supported the BSP’s public information campaigns conducted in the regions.
This occasion is the seventh of the BSP’s regional stakeholders’ events in 12 areas outside the National Capital Region (AONCR) to honor stakeholders in various award categories. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony held last 10 July 2018 at the BSP Main Complex, Manila.
In keeping with the theme, reinforcing partnerships with stakeholders will improve the collaboration of the BSP and its partners in gathering information and conducting advocacy campaigns. This will help in defying new challenges in carrying out the BSP’s objectives of safeguarding price stability and promoting a healthy financial system as well as ensuring an efficient payments and settlement system in the country.
