Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Honors its Stakeholders in Region VI


Monetary Board Member Antonio S. Abacan, Jr. led the awards ceremony for the stakeholders of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in Region Vl during the annual awards and appreciation ceremony held at the Diversion 21 Hotel, Diversion Road Mandurriao, Iloilo City, on 11 September 2018.
Waffle Time, Inc. was the recipient of the Outstanding Respondent among Large and Medium Firms, while Navstar Gasoline Station (Total) was recognized as the Outstanding Respondent among Small Firms for the Business Expectations Survey (BES) in Region VI. The Department of Tourism – Regional Office 6 received the award for Outstanding Partner for the Report on Regional Economic Developments. The Outstanding Regional Partners in Currency Programs of the BSP were granted to the following:  Iloilo Supermart, Inc. and Banco De Oro Unibank Inc. – Cash Hub Center for Clean Note Policy; Cabugao Norte Elementary School, Happyville Academy and Eagle Scouts of the Philippines – Bacolod City Council of Boy Scouts of the Philippines for Coin Recirculation; and Robinsons Mall Iloilo, Robinsons Place Roxas and City Sectoral Office – Office of the Mayor, City of Bacolod for Demonetization of the New Design Series. The Outstanding Regional Partners in Implementing BSP Advocacy on the Conduct of Public Information Campaigns were conferred to the following: West Visayas State University – College of Business and Management, Hercor College High School Department and Department of Social Welfare and Development – Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program – Bacolod City. The Outstanding Partner for the Knowledge Resource Network (KRN) was given to Central Philippine University Library. Lastly, West Visayas State University was the recipient of the Gold Hall of Fame award, after winning in the same award category for three (3) consecutive years.  Each awardee received the “Dynamic Balance, Philippine Eagle” trophy, while the Gold Hall of Fame awardee received the “Soaring to Greater Heights” trophy, both of which were crafted by visual artist and multi-awarded sculptor,  Mr. Ferdinand Cacnio.

This event embodies the successful alliances that have helped the BSP with the attainment of its mandate. Stakeholders of the BSP in the National Capital Region were earlier recognized during the awards ceremony at the BSP Main Complex, Manila on 10 July 2018.  The annual stakeholders’ awards in Region Vl marked the eighth in a series of 12 regional stakeholders’ events for this year.
