The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), together with the Philippine Chamber of Agriculture and Food, Inc. (PCAFI), held the Agriculture Value Chain Financing (AVCF) Forum on 23 November 2018 at the BSP Complex in Manila. The Forum featured leading agribusinesses and value chain champions who shared the market potential and financing opportunities for banks in selected prime commodities including rice, corn, dairy, fisheries, vegetables, poultry, and swine. It was attended by more than 100 participants, half of which were senior bank executives representing 27 banks.
The Forum was organized to promote AVCF as a viable financing strategy and catalyze AVCF partnerships among banks, development institutions, and agri-businesses toward improved access to finance, especially by smallholder farmers and fisherfolk. The Forum is also part of BSP’s continuing efforts to broaden financial inclusion by encouraging innovative financing approaches to address the needs of unserved and underserved sectors.
