01.20.2006

At the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Annual Reception for the banking community, BSP Governor BSP Governor Amando M. Tetangco Jr. (left) highlighted the monetary and economic milestones in 2005 – stable single-digit inflation rate, steady downtrend in interest rates, strong performance of the peso, soaring OFW remittances to highest recorded level in recent years, and the steady rise in foreign investment inflows and international reserves. He enjoined the support of the banking community and other BSP stakeholders in translating the Bank’s reform programs into sustainable growth and development for the man on the street. With the Governor are the members of the Monetary Board (from left) Budget Secretary Romulo Neri, Dr. Vicente Valdepeñas Jr., Raul A. Boncan, Juanita D.
