Forum on the Changing Role of IMF in Asia at the BSP

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando Tetangco Jr. (4th from left) led the panel-reactors during the International Monetary Fund forum on the changing role of the IMF in Asia. IMF Deputy Managing Director Takatoshi Kato (3rd from left), in his brief remarks, cited the Philippines for the significant progress that has been made with economic reforms, particularly in the fiscal area. He added that “if reforms can be advanced and sustained, the prospects are for even higher growth, as well as significant poverty reduction, in the years ahead.” Others in photo were(from left) IMF Resident Representative Reza Baqir, National Treasurer Omar Cruz, Trade and Industry Secretary Peter Favila and IMF Senior Adviser Sean Nolan.
