That both men and women equally benefit from the policies, programs, and initiatives of the BSP.

Overarching 6-year GAD Strategic Framework

Jump to Sections

Gender and Development (GAD) Program as defined by the Magna Carta of Women (Republic Act No. 9710), is a development perspective and process that is participatory and empowering, equitable, sustainable, free from violence, respectful of human rights, and supportive of self-determination and actualization of human potentials. It seeks to achieve gender equality as a fundamental value that should be reflected in development choices and contends that women are active agents of development, not just passive recipients of development.

Our Story

Governor Eli M. Remolona, Jr.

Welcome to the Gender and Development (GAD) page of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

At the BSP, inclusion is not only about expanding access to the financial system. Within our operations, we strive to create an institution that empowers our people, regardless of gender.

To that end, in 2016, we introduced the BSP GAD Focal Point System, a committee composed of leaders and employees who ensure we have gender-responsive programs and facilities for the BSP community. We took a step further in 2024 and launched the BSP’s 6-year GAD Agenda, a strategic framework that helps us identify priority gender reforms and address gender-related issues our employees and the banking public face.

We ensure all employees have equal opportunities for learning and development, and provide gender sensitivity training. We pursue many of these policies in partnership with the Philippine Commission on Women.

Looking ahead, we will sustain and expand these initiatives to cultivate a workplace that enables our people to grow and guarantees a safe space for our staff and the banking public. Financial inclusion begins with the BSP community.

Vision

The BSP supports digital, innovative, and sustainable policies and gender-responsive programs in order to promote a strong economy and high quality of life for all Filipinos.

Mission

True to its mandate, the BSP commits to fortify gender responsiveness and inclusivity as it provides equal access to banking services for all Filipinos.
