The BSP is deploying coin deposit machines, or CoDMs, in partner retail establishments across the Greater Manila Area to encourage the public to deposit their idle coins in the CoDMs and to promote efficient coin recirculation in the country.

Through the CoDM project, the BSP aims to address the artificial coin shortage in certain areas of the country and help ensure that only fit and legal tender currency is readily available for public use.

BSP Coin Machines Mark 145.5 Million Coins Processed

23 February​ 2023​

The coin recirculation program of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) continues to gain public support as its Coin Deposit Machines (CoDMs) passed the 145.5 million mark in the number of coins received and processed as of 21 February 2024 or eight months after its launching in June 2023.

​BSP Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo-Puyat disclosed this at the CoDM Project Milestone and Retail Appreciation Ceremony, where she highlighted the strong support of Pasig City Mayor Victor Ma. Regis “Vico” N. Sotto, and Robinsons Retail Holdings, Inc. President and Chief Executive Officer Robina Gokongwei. The event was held at Robinsons Metro East, Pasig City on 23 February 2024.​

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and its partner retailers launched the Coin Deposit Machines (CoDM) today, 20 June 2023, to promote efficient coin recirculation in the country. Through the CoDM project, the BSP encourages the public to deposit their idle coins stored in their jars, piggy banks, and other containers in accessible, convenient, and efficient coin exchange facilities in participating malls.
