Monetary Board Member
Before joining the BSP’s highest policy-making body, MBM Querubin was United Coconut Planters Bank President and CEO from 2003 to 2007, ASEAN Finance Corporation (now AFC Merchant Bank, a Singapore-based investment bank) Board Member from 2005 to 2007, Bank of America Senior Vice President and Asia Regional Sales Director from 2000 to 2003, and Country Manager-Managing Director for the Philippines from 1998 to 2000, and Solid Bank Corporation Executive Vice President from 1993 to 1998. Prior to assuming these senior positions, he started as an account officer at Bancom Development Corporation in 1980 and a year later, joined Citibank Philippines where he took on various responsibilities in lending, treasury, and trust banking. MBM Querubin was also active in professional and civic organizations. He was Secretary of the Bankers Association of the Philippines from 2006 to 2007 and President and Chairman of Megalink, Inc. from 2005 to 2007. He also served as Governor of the Philippine National Red Cross from 2007 to 2008, Chairman of Operation Smile Philippines from 2004 to 2007, and President of Rotary Club of Makati West from 1999 to 2000. He holds a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, and bachelor’s degrees in mathematics (cum laude) and mechanical engineering from De La Salle University. MBM Querubin will serve in the Monetary Board until 2 July 2026.
