Monetary Board Member
Prior to joining the Monetary Board, Walter C. Wassmer held various positions in banks, and investment and financing companies. Mr. Wassmer joined BDO Unibank in 1997 where he served as Senior Executive Vice President-Head of Institutional Banking until his retirement in 2022. He joined the BDO board that year, also taking on other duties on a consultant basis. Previously, he served at Far East Bank & Trust Co., UnionBank of the Philippines, Bancom Finance Corp., and IFC Leasing and Acceptance Corp. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce major in Management of Financial Institutions from De La Salle University. He also attended the Management Development Program at the Asian Institute of Management in 1988.
