PisoLit and EkoLit
PisoLit serves as a platform for the digital, social media based financial education advocacy of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). It is distinct and separate from the BSP's official social media accounts to allow flexibility and agility in posting financial education content that fits the communication style of Filipino netizens. PisoLit posts are focused on topics and tips related to financial planning, saving, budgeting, managing debt, investing, fraud and scam prevention, protection of rights of financial consumers, digital literacy, digital financial services, among others.
To complement PisoLit’s goal of deepening the public’s literacy in handling their personal finances, the BSP Governor announced the launching of a new character, ekonomik literasi or EkoLit on 9 July 2021. EkoLit is one of BSP’s ways of helping improve consumers’ understanding of economic issues and concepts. EkoLit posts are focused on making complex economics-related concepts simple enough for everyone to understand and disseminating online learning events, among others.
Together, PisoLit and EkoLit, help the Filipino netizens in making better and informed economic and financial decisions.
