Public Advisory: Rescheduling of the Release of Q4 2025 BES and CES Results

The release of the Q4 2025 Business Expectations Survey (BES) and Consumer Expectations Survey (CES) results will be moved to 19 December 2025 from the original date of 12 December 2025 due to data collection challenges in areas affected by the recent natural calamities.

This adjustment will provide BES respondents with additional time to resume operations following these disruptions.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) requests the public’s understanding during this period and reaffirms its commitment to releasing high-quality and timely statistics.

Advisory on the Press Release covering the report on foreign investments registered with the BSP through Authorized Agent Banks

In line with the BSP’s ongoing efforts to streamline its statistical and media releases, the monthly publication of press release on foreign investments registered with the BSP through Authorized Agent Banks (AABs), a subset of the larger Balance of Payments investment data which are registered by AABs to enable non-resident investors to purchase foreign exchange from the banking system, has been discontinued.

Advisory on the Inaugural Publication of the Residential Property Price Index (RPPI)

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) will launch the Residential Property Price Index (RPPI) on 27 June 2025 to replace the Residential Real Estate Price Index (RREPI).

The new index is capable of making more accurate price adjustments for varying property characteristics, such as location, floor area and number of bedrooms.¹

Moreover, from data on new properties captured under RREPI, the new index broadens coverage to include pre-owned and foreclosed homes. RPPI calculations will also use actual acquisition cost rather than appraised value.

These methodological and data enhancements align with international standards and best practices.

Aside from being a reliable gauge for residential property price trends, the RPPI provides a more comprehensive view of the housing market using bank loan data.

The inaugural RPPI release for Q1 2025 will cover residential property price data from Q1 2019 to Q1 2025.

Advisory on reserve money as the sole monetary base indicator of the BSP

In line with the BSP’s continuing efforts to align its monetary and financial statistics with international standards, starting January 2022, the BSP will be releasing only one monetary base indicator for the Philippines, which is Reserve Money (RM). The BSP will continue to disseminate base money (BM) until end-December 2021 to complete the time series of the said indicator for the year 2021 and give the users sufficient time to adjust to the impending change. The release of only one monetary base indicator is in accordance with the recent recommendation of the International Monetary Fund to disseminate to the public only one monetary base indicator for the Philippines and consistent with the practices of other countries.

Data on monthly reserve money is disseminated to the public through the Central Bank Survey and may be accessed through https://www.bsp.gov.ph/Statistics/Financial%20System%20Accounts/mas_srf.xls.
